Quick and easy is the key when you’re busy. And if you don’t have something to grab out of the freezer, you need ideas for quick, simple and nourishing meals that can be on the table in half an hour. It’s good to have a few recipes on hand that you can return to time and time again. In summer, it’s often as simple as throwing something on the BBQ and matching it with a salad. In winter, though, it can feel like a harder task.

Cuts of meat that cook quickly:

Beef – steaks, crumbed schnitzel, stirfry.

Lamb – lamb rumps, backstraps, french cutlets, midloin chops.

Pork – crumbed schnitzel, stirfry, pork steaks, diced pork.

Chicken – chicken nibbles, crumbed schnitzel, stirfry, tenderloins, chicken thighs with skin on or boneless and skinless, diced chicken, chicken breasts, and stuffed chicken breasts.

Sausages – most sausages cook in the oven in half an hour.

Fish – panfried or baked in the oven.
